Behavioral health services

What we treat. How we treat it.

We offer integrated behavioral health care: psychiatric medication management, psychotherapy, couples and family work, and specialty programs. Care is available in person and through secure telehealth, where clinically appropriate.

01

Psychiatry & Medication Management

Psychiatric care at Eastward Medical Group starts with a thorough diagnostic evaluation, not a quick symptom checklist. Your psychiatrist reviews your history in full, explains their clinical thinking, and collaborates with you on any medication decisions. Follow-up appointments are structured to track what is working and adjust when it is not.

Our psychiatric care is delivered by physicians who completed an MD or DO, a four-year residency in psychiatry, and who hold board certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Visits are scheduled at the frequency your care requires.

  • Diagnostic psychiatric evaluation
  • Ongoing psychiatric medication management
  • Coordination with primary care & specialty providers
  • Care for mood disorders, anxiety disorders, OCD, trauma, perinatal mental health, and major life transitions
  • Telehealth or in-person at your preference
02

Couples & Family Care

Relational work at this practice treats the relationship itself as the clinical focus, not just the individuals in it. Therapists trained in couples and family modalities help partners and family members identify patterns, improve communication, and work through conflict with structure and neutrality.

Relationships are part of behavioral health. Our couples and family clinicians are trained in evidence-based systemic and relational modalities, and care is delivered with the same evidence base as our individual treatment.

  • Couples therapy (Emotionally Focused Therapy, Gottman Method-informed)
  • Family therapy for adults and adult-child family units
  • Parent guidance for adults navigating parenting under stress
03

Telehealth

Our telehealth platform is HIPAA-compliant, stable, and requires nothing more than a device and a private space. Psychiatry, therapy, and couples sessions are all available by secure video across New Jersey. We designed the practice telehealth-first, so virtual care here is a full-featured clinical experience, not a workaround.

Where clinically appropriate, both psychiatric care and psychotherapy are available through HIPAA-compliant telehealth. The same clinicians, the same care — delivered to wherever you can find a quiet, private space within your state of residence.

  • Telepsychiatry medication management
  • Teletherapy for psychotherapy and couples care
  • Secure, HIPAA-compliant platform
  • Equal-fee, in-network billing where your plan permits

Specialty Care

Eastward Medical Group runs structured programs for adults dealing with specific high-impact conditions. These programs involve closer monitoring, coordinated care between psychiatry and therapy when appropriate, and defined treatment frameworks rather than general supportive care. They are designed for people who want focused, accountable clinical attention.

Some conditions benefit from a clinician with focused training. Our specialty programs are organized around the diagnostic categories that present most often in adult outpatient behavioral health, staffed by clinicians with additional training in each area.

  • Anxiety disorders
  • Mood disorders
  • Trauma and PTSD
  • OCD
  • Workplace burnout
  • Life transitions
  • Chronic medical conditions co-occurring with mental health

Psychotherapy

Individual therapy here is matched to what the evidence supports for your specific presentation. Our therapists draw from cognitive-behavioral, ACT, and other structured approaches depending on what your situation calls for. Sessions are not open-ended conversations without direction; there is a clinical rationale behind every treatment arc.

Our therapists are independently licensed (LCSW, LMFT, LMHC, LPC, PsyD, or PhD) and matched to your care based on your goals and the modalities best suited to them. Sessions are typically scheduled weekly or biweekly to start.

  • Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
  • Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT)
  • Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) skills
  • Psychodynamic and supportive psychotherapy
  • Trauma-focused care
  • Perinatal and postpartum-specific therapy

Care begins with a conversation.

Most new patients are scheduled within 7–10 business days.
